The focus of this year's workshop will be on carrying out the Implementation Plan for the 2020 Vision.

Areas of focus will be:

  • Communications: Wilderness Message Development, Economic Values of Wilderness, Wilderness App Development, Branding for Wilderness, and Wilderness Kiosk and Trailhead Engagement Design.
  • Wilderness Character: Wilderness Character Background and Best Practices, and Extensions of Wilderness Character Monitoring into Landscape Scale Conservation.
  • Partnerships for the Future: Framing and Reframing Partnerships, Inherent Functions of Agencies and Partners, Grants and Agreements, and Hiring Authorities.
  • Wilderness Special Topics Panels: Emerging Technologies, and Balancing Youth in the Field with Use Limits
  • Training Models: Field Skills Case Studies, Stewardship and Traditional Skills Qualifications, New Training Models and Courses
  • Building Capacity for Stewardship Through Fundraising: Funding Development through Grant Writing and Estate Planning
