Celebrate 30 years of the Montana Native Plant Society at the 2017 annual meeting!

Join us to explore the plains, badlands, and hardwood draws of eastern Montana. Our home base is Eastern Montana Bible Camp, a rustic camp nestled in a hardwood draw of the badlands. Field trips will take us to diverse prairie, green ash/chokecherry, cottonwood, riparian, and wetland habitats. Dr. Kelly Kindscher, Ethnobotanist and Professor of Environmental Studies at the University of Kansas, will speak about native medicinal plants of the prairie and he will also lead a field trip. Dr. Matt Lavin, Montana State University, will lead a field trip focusing on grass identification and ecology - his workshops have been very popular at past meetings. After field trips, test your skills at the annual Wayne Phillips Plant ID Contest. Kids activities are planned for Saturday so that parents can go on field trips. Saturday night we’ll have our membership meeting, and field trip slides and stories. Committee meetings on Sunday morning round out our event.
