Interested managers are invited to join calls every other month to share experiences with, and learn about, the latest scientific knowledge and tools for fire and fuels management in the Northern Rockies. 

The March 7, 2013 Network of Fire Science Champions call included discussions on -

  • Informal science communication networks, differences among perspectives of managers in different positions
  • Importance of fuel specialists and fire ecologists to communicating science
  • Challenges to the re-measurement of burned Current Vegetation Survey (CVS) plots
  • Need for measureable fire effects monitoring objectives and their possible inclusion in WFDSS
  • Updates on the Northern Rockies Fire Science Networkʼs current and upcoming activities
