This conference will bring together the regional climate research community (North Central University Consortium, DOI agencies, and other institutions) and local stakeholders (resource managers, tribal resource managers and leaders, and non-governmental organizations) to foster productive engagement with the North Central Climate Science Center (NC CSC). Together, particpants will identify the most important climate-related topics for resource managers and adjust the NC CSC’s agenda to encourage demand-driven and actionable research.

Research at the North Central Climate Science Center is built on three foundational science areas:

  • climate drivers
  • ecological impacts
  • adaptation

This three-day conference will highlight past and current research and findings in these areas and identify climate-related management issues faced by land managers in the North Central region. Ways to improve stakeholder engagement and how best to communicate research outcomes to a wide range of audiences will be discussed.

In addition to the conference, NC CSC will also be offering a training for early career scientists and students on May 18-19. See the training page for more information. Participation from tribal members and young scientists will be encouraged by providing travel support to those participants.
