Field Trip Oct 4-5, 2023: Learning from Prescribed Burning in SE BC

Join fire practitioners and researchers near Cranbrook, BC to discuss recent prescribed burns, cultural burning, monitoring, and opportunities for new research. Additional prescribed burning will be occurring regularly in future years and managers are interested in working with researchers to fill significant knowledge gaps that can only be filled through more rigorous research. The fire practitioners can be flexible in their implementation to meet the needs of researchers with common goals. Join Bob Gray (Fire Ecologist) and Colleen Ross (Wildland Fire Ecologist) to visit recent and planned burns and discuss the challenges and opportunities for prescribed burning in BC.
