The Northern Rockies Fire Science Network and the USFS Rocky Mountain Research Station invited managers and scientists to an integrated fuel treatments field trip at the Priest River Experimental Forest in North Idaho. The field trip focused on multidisciplinary research to help develop and evaluate alternative restoration/fuel treatments that are ecologically sound, socially acceptable, and economically viable. Scientists and managers discussed these approaches and determined how they may meet some of the challenges managers face.
The field trip was led by Terrie Jain, Russell Graham, and Andrew Hudak, all Research Foresters with the USFS Rocky Mountain Research Station in Moscow, Idaho.
