Join the Association for Fire Ecology's Fire CAFE (Conversations Around Fire Ecology)

"The Southwest Ecological Restoration Institutes (SWERI) established the ReShape program in response to feedback from policymakers, land managers, and researchers. ReShape compiles and displays national-scale data on forest treatments and wildfires through the Treatment and Wildfire Interagency Geodatabase (TWIG), a user-friendly, collaborative, and open-access decision support tool. The program is actively engaging with relevant audiences (land managers, collaborative groups, wildfire researchers) to encourage TWIG’s use and gather feedback on its usability. ReSHAPE program research efforts focus on four key areas: social science for collaborative decision-making, biophysical effects of forest treatments, data science for large dataset analysis, and economic assessments led by the Conservation Economics Institute.

After introducing the ReSHAPE program and the Treatment and Wildfire Interagency Geodatabase (TWIG) and showcasing applications of TWIG data through two case studies of treatment and wildfire interactions, the presenter team will facilitate an open discussion on the usefulness of the geodatabase and viewer, research or management questions, complementary analysis tools, and potential improvements."
