Karin Riley, Research Ecologist at the US Forest Service’s Missoula Fire Sciences Lab, leads a team that works on vegetation mapping and wildfire risk mapping under different land management and climate scenarios. In this talk, learn about TreeMap, a tree-level dataset of US forests; and for wildfire, an accompanying FuelMap of surface fuels. The datasets are being actively used by land managers and scientists for estimation of carbon and fire risk, among other purposes.
