This 22 minute video covers what suppression tactics should be based on, including firefighter and public safety, resource benefits, minimum costs, and resource objectives. Past firefighting protection policy primarily emphasized the need to extinguish all wildland fire ignitions. Today's policy offers a full range of management options and suppression tactics that are covered, in part, in this video.  This video was presented by the National Wildfire Coordinating Group 2003 - NFES 2916 - for use in Course S-130.
