I have worked with the US Forest Service since fall of 1981 when I started as a seasonal employee. In 1989, I was converted to a permanent employee. During this time I have worked on the Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon, the Coconino National Forest in Arizona. Currently, I work at the Fire Sciences Laboratory in Missoula, Montana. In addition to my normal duties throughout my career, I have been involved in fire management; working on crews, three summers as a fire lookout, prevention patrol, serving on a variety of Incident Management Teams and Wildland Fire Use Teams and now in fire research at the fire lab. I am currently qualified as a Long-term Fire Analyst (LTAN).
